Sofia is a little girl with a commoner’s background until her mom marries the King and suddenly she is royalty. With the help of the three fairies in charge of the Royal Training Academy, Sofia learns that looking like a princess isn’t all that hard but behaving like one must come from the heart.
About this episode: Sofia is having trouble learning to ice-dance, and she learns that her friend Prince Hugo is a very talented ice-dancer. Hugo decides to join Sofia’s ice-dancing class and help her at the same time, and they both agree to perform a duet at an upcoming ice-dancing recital. There’s only one problem: Hugo is afraid of what his father and friends will think because they think ice-dancing is a female sport. But there’s one thing that’s really giving Hugo butterflies in his tummy. Hugo’s father, King Garrick, feels like it’s time to give his son extra attention and bond with him. To Hugo’s horror, Garrick has become the new assistant coach for his hockey team! This is a problem because ice-dance class is at the exact same time as hockey practice. Hugo is so afraid of Garrick and his friends’ reactions that he tries to do hockey and ice-dancing at the same time. Sofia needs to teach Hugo to listen to his heart and prove that ice-dancing is a princely thing.
